In this series here comes Fiats New Panda.Launched in September 2003, the New Panda is a car which takes Fiat back to its roots. A versatile, practical and stylish small car, the Panda follows in the footsteps of the old 500 and suchlike. Underneath the skin the New Panda gets most of the raft of new developments which Fiat has been following, including the 1.3 16v MultiJet diesel engine and the 'Dualogic' automatic/sequential transmission. The much hyped two-door lifestyle model from Fiat, the Fiat 500, will soon be on Indian roads. The car, is to be launched in India in July in line with the Italian car maker’s aggressive push at making India a potential market.The Fiat 500 small car will be imported to India as a completely built unit, as an image building exercise for the car maker in the country. The Fiat 500 as a mass market product in India, considering that it will cost more than much larger cars in India, like the Skoda Octavia or Honda Civic. The Fiat 500 has three four-cylinder engines - a 1400 cc 100 bhp petrol, a 1200cc 69 bhp petrol, and a 1248cc, 75 bhp multijet diesel engine already in India on the diesel Suzuki Swift. Fiat Grande Punto is a premium B-segment category car that is highly successful in Europe. Designed by the famous Giorgetto Giugiaro of Italdesign, Fiat Grand Punto was given the Euro NCAP five-star rating for passenger safety.

Fiat Grande Punto would probably have 1.3-litre multi-jet diesel engine that would be manufactured by the Suzuki-GM-Fiat alliance engine plant. Fiat may also shorten the present length of Grande Punto, which is 4030mm, by 30mm so that it can comply with the new small car regulations and take advantage of an 8 percent excise saving.
